Kampong Phluk, School, Temple and Sunset in Floating Village

0

Still in the part of Kampong Phluk tour, which is in Siem Reap.
After facing many sadness because I come in a wrong season (which is summer and dry), the tour now continue to sail into the school, temple and a floating market in nowhere.

Well, as per I can say, the price of food in the market is so expensive, but if you dare to try some snake or crocodile meat, you can do it in there, which is I skip because I am too scare for that kind of meat either.

I dont know what is wrong with my luck, after I miss sunset in Angkor Wat tour, I also miss sunset in this floating village because in the afternoon, the weather is just turning bad, and honest say, I spend it by ordering and drink coffee, and make new friend, a Japaness one.

Temple in Phluk Village

The temple is big, and beside the temple, there is a school as well.
Maybe because there is not a tourist time season, it is so hard to find market or buy something.
The temple itself has been build by donations.

As per I can say, the school seem not doing well but the kid seem very happy.
They must meet a lot of tourist, and what make me glad is the kid is not like a kid in Angkor Wat, which is following you anywhere to sell bracelet.

I took a picture in the school, which I think it can be a good memories for me.
I really want to do volunteer by teaching, but seem like I know it in a very late time, its like when I almost want to back home.

School Yard

Its pretty much fun, actually.
When some student notice that I am taking picture, they do some pose as well.
Seem like the sad tour doesnt feel sad at all, isnt it ?

Inside the site, there is also a lot of small temple building, which I am too scare to walk nearby but didnt miss the chances to take picture like I usually do.

The walking path from Phluk Village to school is like 20 minute walk, and another little walk to reach boat station and all is set to sail.

Small temple building inside the site

Along the path, I do enjoy the forest.
The building is still on wood, the road is still not as good as in the city, and what make it worse is that the road is full of dust and big car coming and go.

The air is not pretty much good, which I think it would be best if I wear a mask when I come here again in summer time.
The local didnt seem kind, maybe because there is a limited language, which is also make me scare to start a conversations as well.

Boat time

After we reach in this point, we are ready to have a boat trip for around 30 minute to reach floating market and enjoy the sunset.
The water is not as much as it must be, and sailing along the ways in magrove forest doesnt seem bad at all.

Since the villager is live nearby river and most of their work is relate to sailing and fishing, you can also find a crocodile oil, snake oil, which is kinda scary but they say it is best for medicine. Even I got it free, I am too scare to buy it and use it. Even think of it is also scary.

Traditional Oil

Not only the oil, they do also sell the crocodile skull and many stuff in there.
I totally like to see, but not buying anything in there since I am too scare to have some of them as my collections.
Beside, I only have my 7 kg bag, which mean I didnt want to throw anything aways.

Focusing in the boat sail, enjoying the view and finally reach the floating market and enjoy a glass of coffee.
Honest say, I spend my sunset time by talking to my new Japaness friend, which is kind of interesting since I know she was volunteer by teaching and I learn more from her as well.

Coffee everywhere

Black coffee to end the trip. Even until now I still wondering about how does the snake and crocodile meat will be taste like but I not that brave to try it even 1 time.
The food and drink price in there is kinda expensive, which I think normal as well since they are in the middle of nowhere.

And finally before I end this funny story in here about my travel to there. I capture one worship place along the ways, which I think it was interesting because it is in the middle of forest, and its kinda wonderful and creepy as well.
Hope this picture didnt bring any harm, since all I want to do is learning a lot in there.

Worship house

I have no idea about the God in there, but I know and I respect every religions.
If they say that Cambodia is a Kingdom of Wonder, then all I can say is that I am totally agree with it.

Why ?
Since I spend time in there, I learn a lot and there is also a lot of things that I can always learn everyday.
Life is less messy and I do really enjoy the place as much as I can be.

Am I gonna be back again ?
I also wonder myself.
Maybe yes, and maybe no at all.

How about you ?
Already explore Cambodia more than you can imagine ?
