Kampong Phluk, Siem Reap Floating Village in Wrong Season

0

Since I stayed very long in Siem Reap, Cambodia
What everyone gonna do ?
Travelling to anywhere that relate to the city and enjoy every momment, right ?

One of my regret trip is going to “Kampong Phluk”.
Not because the place is bad, but I just come here in a wrong time, which mean summer, and there is almost no water at all.

Coming to floating village in a dry season ?
Can you imagine it at all ?
Well, it is cost me around $30 for the tour pickup and guide.

Ice cream before trip start, cost $1

If there is a things that I will be wonder, is that why Cambodia is still using USD Dollar ($), especially in Siem Reap.
Maybe because it was a tourist area ?
Well, since I already been here, I think there is not a problem, just a little wondering.

To be honest, I am very exicted for my trip to go to this village.
I wanna experience the sunset, the village view, and many things as per tour tell me, but when I arrived, all of my happiness gone because it is a dry season, and the home not even float at all.

The water is dry, the ship is not as beauty as it supposed to be as well.
Well, there is nothing I can do except enjoying it as best as I can, isnt it ?

The house

So, as per you can see, the house supposed to be floating.
And since it was a dry season, all you can see is like this picture.
There is no market, there is nothing, except the drying place, which you can enjoy a lot of dust along the ways.

Summer in Siem Reap also hot.
The air is like breathing with dust, which I kinda sad, but the ship and sail trip to sunset pay a bit for me.
Also, I meet a new Japan friend in this tour, that make the whole trip is not as bad as it seem.

No water, No sailing

Most of the villager in here work as a fisherman.
Well, there is nothing I can really do, except just to see the landscape and try to find something fun along the ways.

I think this village is very poor and only rely on raining season, which mean it can attract the tourist more.
Even in dry season, there is some comer like me.
What make it different is just the view and the experience.

I want to say a lot, but its seem like there is almost nothing that I can say since it was dry season.
Pardon my poor writing, but if you want to come here, make sure you come NOT IN summer time, or you will end up like me. A bit disappointed.

Worship place

I like to watch many Thai horror, which I always find the worship place like the picture that I share in here.
In Cambodia, its seem like the religions is like same same.
I dont know what is the God name, but I do respect it.

The villager, almost all of them worship the same but as per my tour guide told me, the God is kinda different for each house. It is depend on the shaman that check their house before they build it first.
And sure, they had a one big worship house near the end of the road.

Khmer Fish

Yes, as you can see, there is a traditional Khmer fish.
The main job of the man is a fisherman, and the wife is cooking it and selling it.
Sad for me, I dont even try the food in here at all.

What is wrong in my trip this time ?
I didnt had a view and experience like I supposed to have, and I not even enjoy the local food as well.
I not regret it, but I am sure that the issue is my time pick for the tour.

In the end of this floating village trip, I also visit the school and prepared to enjoy the sunset, which I gonna talk and spill in another post because I hate to write it too long.

Keep up with me,
You gonna see something amazing in the next post while I am explored Cambodia, especially in Siem Reap province !
