Sad romance with musical inside ? Film ini diadaptasi dari film sebelumnya dengan judul yang sama dengan 1957 stage musical of the same name. Mengunakan latar 1957, perseteruan antara American dan Puerto Rican menjadi topic utama dalam film ini.
Airing pada December 10, 2021 dengan durasi 156 menit, film ini mengabungkan unsur romantic, perkelahian dan musical sekaligus didalamnya. It kinda weird but it was great. The story was sad, the fight is brutal and the love inside ? You never know what a ‘real’ love is “if” you didn’t watch this one.

Sejujurnya aku menskip lumayan banyak scene dance and singing difilm ini. I didn’t hate the film and I like the story because all inside is romance. I kinda feel confused too, because this film has 2 language which in Spanish, I didn’t get the translate. But, it OK because I am really enjoy the plot.
Jika diawal scene kita sempat berpikir ini hanya sekedar film tawuran antara 2 gens, percayalah bahwa kita bakalan salah besar. This film is totally talking about love. When you love someone else, no matter where they come from, you just didn’t care. You will change and you will do anything, just to make sure you’re with them.
Tony, ketua gengs yang sudah bertobat akibat masa lalu bertemu dengan Maria, adik dari ketua geng saingan dipesta dansa. Jatuh cinta pada pandangan pertama, hubungan mereka tentu tidak akan berjalan dengan mulus, mengingat persaingan antara kedua gengs tersebut.
But, love matter ! That is the whole point from this film.
Memiliki ending yang sad and sedikit membinggungkan, I think Maria deserve better. Where is Anita, the one who make Tony get out and got shot to dead ?
In the end, we finally can see 2 gengs carry Tony body into somewhere while police arrived. Is that mean a peace between them ?
Secara keseluruhan, the story was good. But a lot of sing and dancing make me feel bored. Mungkin itu salah satu kelebihan dari film ini, but personally for me, the dance and the song isn’t really my things. I love the love between Maria and Tony, it was fast but it also purely. Forgive each other and keep believe in them is the beautiful point inside.
