I kinda like history film, especially slavery. I didnt like the torture but I like the story about it.
I mean, how the black people fight for their freedom is really brave and how they can keep their head down is also teach me a lot.
It doesn’t matter how good we are. Sometimes, we just need to keep our head down until the time is come and we can strike back more stronger and harder.
Film ini airing pada September 18, 2020 lalu dengan durasi 106 menit. Meskipun tokoh utama dalam film ini bukan pejuang based on true story, latar belakang film ini sendiri diambil dari perbudakan 21th century African – American in Southern slave plantation.
Bayangin gimana rasanya ketika kehidupanmu berubah sepenuhnya dan kamu terbangun kembali sebagai budak yang untuk berbicara saja kamu tidak diberikan hak ? This is a real torture !

Film ini bagus cuma sayangnya waktu didalam film ini tidak diceritakan secara detail. We start from the place where we can see black people working in silent and there is a lot of white soldier walking around by horse and force them to work harder.
We can also see 2 people on the run and one woman just dead when the soldier finally chase her and torture her.
Then we back into Eden who also get torture because she try to escape.
I don’t know how she try at first time because the whole film didn’t explain it but I know she fail and didn’t dare to try anymore. Jadi ibarat film kita dimulai dari orang yang sudah berusaha kabur but berakhir tragis gitu.
Day by day passed, the story then bring us back into Eden early life dimana dia memiliki keluarga dan kehidupan yang sukses sebagai penulis dan juga motivator orang berkulit hitam. Dianggap sebagai ancaman, Eden akhirnya diculik dan berakhir dislavery. Sayangnya berapa lama Eden disana tidak juga dijelaskan hingga film berakhir.
All we know is how sad her life and how she try to escape but we didn’t know how the slavery place exist and why nobody can find that place before. How they can capture more and more black people and …
If her husband really looking for her, minimal adalah scene’nya mengingat Eden is a great person and almost everyone know her, right ?
Secara keseluruhan, slavery and feelingnya dapat bangat but the detailnya itu kurang. Jadi kita dibuat menebak sendiri sudah berapa lama Eden berada disana, what she doing sehingga dia disiksa begitu and apa hubungan perdebatannya di TV sehingga dia ingin diculik dan dijadikan slavery. Because she is a black people voices ?
Well, meski kurang detail. this film is good. I enjoy it a while and I didn’t skip any scene on this film. Didn’t waste my time because I kinda love the power of Eden in this film as well too.
