Released by Netflix on September 2021 lalu dengan durasi 103 menit, this film is kinda good and sad for me. As a writer, watching this one make me realize that being a story teller or writer is kinda weird in other people eyes. I am not getting bullied and still have friend, of course. But, this film still touch me and make me sad in the end.
Starring by Krysten Ritter as Natacha, a.k.a the witch in the film. The whole story is little weird but good. Filmnya memang menyisakan banyak pertanyaan yang gak masuk akal, but, when I try to look once again and know this film is dark ‘fantasy’, then everything make sense for me, because all is fantasy.

The film start when Alex want to burn all hes writing. Alex over hear the fight from his parent and decided to burn every horror book that he make.
He run away from home to burn all of his work but lure inside the room with horror film playing and eat a pie in the table.
He then collapse and waking up in the apartment that have a cat and one girl like him as prisoner inside.
He meet the witch and got a job to telling her horror story every night, with sad ending, not a happy one.
Then Alex day begin, with Yazmin
Hari demi hari berlalu, Alex menceritakan setiap tulisan yang ada dibukunya hingga akhirnya kehilangan buku tersebut. Yazmin, the one who been there 3 years (we know the time she was missing in the end of film), decided to believe in Alex to fight the witch and run away together.
Alex tanpa sengaja menemukan catatan seorang gadis yang dianggap berhasil kabur dari tempat itu. Mengikuti petunjuk yang tersembunyi didalam catatan dan buku rahasia, Alex dan Yazmin berhasil membuat obat untuk menidurkan Natacha. But, when they try to run aways, the find the truth that Natacha was a prisoner just like they’re when she was young and Natacha is also the girl who make a diaries inside some book.
The real witch is not scary at all. She just hungry and want a story. Alex then finally telling them the main reason why he decided to burn all his book and stop writing. This part is kinda sad for me because I know how it feel to be a story teller / writer and nobody want to be my friend. I am all alone and I am weird in some people eyes. But, that is OK now.
The ending is also make me feel little disappointed. The witch burning because she was lure by Alex story. We can also see Natacha may still alive because we saw her foot in the cabinet where she keep all the minions from real kid inside.

We didn’t know for sure how long Alex been missing is kinda a missing part in this whole film too.
The apartment move ?
Hmm, I don’t think so because after find the hidden door to escape, Alex and Yaz is so easily back to Alex place where his parent are waiting for him.
And Natacha ? Where she goes the whole day ?
What are she doing and how old she was ?
It is kinda a question until the end scene.
